There are documentary films made about each of us, which we have to sit through before St. Peter can make his decision on our particular judgements. After the 12 hours, we're all sweating. We desperately want to get into Heaven, and the suspense is killing us. Then Peter smiles and all of a sudden I think maybe, just maybe, everything will be all right. Then, as a supreme gesture of acceptance, he opens his mouth really wide. One of my friends says "Pete, you crazy-ass motherfucker!!!". We all high five. Then St. Peter unlocks the gates, and I'm asking, "Where's Scatman John?" And I hear a voice say, "Right here, Sam. Look upward." I look up and there he is. Floating in the sky, looking very handsome, neatly-trimmed moustache, 3-piece suit, and bouler hat, playing cards with architect Max Bill and philosopher Jacques Derrida. "How are you floating?", I ask him. He looks me straight in the eye and says, "if Scatman can do it, so can you". "Of course!" I say. Then I float up to the celestial bodies, and we are at peace with ourselves and with each other for all eternity. I don't think that will happen, but The Scatman had a good heart.
